Jeep Team’s Van Tonder in top form ahead of OCR World Championship in Canada

Thomas van Tonder – OCR World Championships – In just a few days, the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships will return to Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario, Canada for its third year of international competition.

From the 12th to the 15th of October 2017, Jeep Team and SA’s top male OCR athlete, Thomas van Tonder, along with his Spartan World Championships team mates, Bradley Claase and Carina Marx, will be competing alongside thousands of athletes representing 67 nations all pushing themselves to the limit in the pursuit of glory.

Christiaan Greyling – Otter Trail Run – Following an impressive performance in the 110km Salomon Ultra Pirineu, top South African Trail runner, Christiaan Greyling, and his wife, Landie Greyling, are touring Israel, Istanbul, Vienna, Croatia and Barcelona, all the while training in some of the most amazing places for the upcoming Otter Trail Run.

The upcoming 44km Otter Trail is regarded as one of the finest hikes in the world and starts from Storms River Mouth ending at Nature’s Valley and includes 4 river crossings, over 2600 metres of elevation gain and 11 significant climbs along a relentlessly technical coastal route.

Hank McGregor – Fish River Canoe Marathon – Over 1000 paddlers from across the globe travelled to the Eastern Cape for the two-day, 82km Fish River Canoe Marathon, which doubled as the South African K2 River Marathon Championships.

Ten-time World Marathon Champion, Hank McGregor (Jeep Team/EuroSteel/Gara Racing Paddles), a Fish River Race Coelacanth, took on his 17th Fish River Race with his South African Doubles Surfski Champs partner, Lee Furby, while fellow Jeep Team paddler, Barry Lewin, also a Coelacanth, paired with Justin Swart for his 16th Fish River Canoe Marathon.

McGregor and Furby ended their 2017 campaign in 11th place overall and 1st Sub-vet in a total time of 4h51m42s. Lewin and Swart finished 85th K2 overall, completing the race in a total time of 5h51m7s.
