Seventeen people were left injured this morning when a taxi crashed into a light-pole on Marlboro Drive in Sandton, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at approximately 09h12 to find that the taxi had come to a stop on the centre medium up against a light-pole. The occupants had already climbed out of the taxi and were found walking around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that they had all sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were later transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
