Three injured as car rolls down an embankment near the Gateway offramp

Three people have been injured after a single vehicle left the N2 North near the Gateway offramp on Wednesday night around 7 pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a single vehicle had left the N2 Freeway and rolled down a steep embankment before coming to rest on its side. Advanced Life Support Paramedics started treating three occupants of the vehicle. One patient had sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised down the embankment. The Durban Fire Department set up a rope system to haul the patients up to the N2. The patients were placed in a specialised basket and carried up to an awaiting ambulance. The injured were then transported to a nearby hospital for further care that they required.

At this stage, the events leading up to the single vehicle leaving the busy roadway is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
