11 injured during head-on collision in Pietermaritzburg

Eleven people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided head-on on the Edendale Road outside of Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at 16h45 and immediately responded.

Upon arrival, paramedics found a taxi and light motor vehicle in the middle of the road. The passengers from the taxi were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that eleven had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Northdale and Edendale Provincial Hospitals for further treatment.

The local authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
