Three people were hospitalised following an accident on Watson Highway in Tongaat yesterday morning.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving several calls from the public reporting the incident. Upon, arrival it was establised that while travelling from Wesbrook in the direction of Tongaat the driver lost control of his Opel Corsa car. The vehicle veered off the road and plummeted several metres down an embankment before crashing into a tree.
Three occupants of the vehicinjured imjured and had to be transported to hospital by ambulance for medical attention.
The driver of the Opel Corsa fled the scene on foot.
