The body of a newborn boy was found this afternoon in a river in the Marlboro area. ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial Services, arrived on the scene after they were called by the community.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the body lying in the middle of the river amongst some refuse. SAPS Search and Rescue were called to the scene to recover the body.
Once recovery, paramedics found that the new-born boy showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done and he was declared dead.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
