One person was killed and three others sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious after a taxi and a vehicle collided on Dane road in Midrand this afternoon.
When ER24 arrived on the scene at 13H30, one person was entrapped in the vehicle. The fire department had to extricate the patient with the jaws of life. The other patients were sitting next to the road and were already taken out by the medical services.
The driver of the one vehicle had unfortunately sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.
The rest of the patients were transported by ER24 to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to our paramedics but police were on the scene for further investigations.
