A man was killed and two others injured following a bakkie rollover on the N3 highway near the Pavillion turnoff in Westville, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene to find the bakkie lying on its roof in the emergency lane of the highway. One patient was found lying inside the vehicle while another was found walking around on the scene.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered that one man had sustained numerous injuries ans showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead.
The second patient was found lying trapped inside the vehicle. Paramedics extricated the man and assessed both, finding that they had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Both patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
