Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to a scrap metal business on Gopalall Hurbans Road in Tongaat after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, it was established that two suspects dressed in hooded jackets entered the building and held up staff.
The suspects robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash.
During the robbery, the victims began assaulting the suspects with bricks and other metal objects. One of the suspects fired multiple shots before he and his accomplice fled on foot.
No one was injured during the shooting.
