Reportedly drunk driver arrested in Canelands, KZN

A reportedly drunken driver was arrested by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa after he attempted to leave the scene of a car crash that injured a 25-year-old female.

At approx 21:32 the RUSA Operations Center received multiple calls of a collision on the R102 Northbound near Canelands. Upon arrival Reaction Officers found that a gold Toyota Corolla had crashed into the rear of a silver Hyundai Getz. The impact forced the Hyundai into a steel barrier. The driver & three other occupants of the Toyota Corolla were heavily intoxicated. The woman was on-route home after visiting her sibling at Mahatma Ghandi Memorial Hospital in Phoenix when the accident occurred. The drunken driver was arrested by Reaction Officers.

The woman was transported to Victoria Hospital for further treatment.
