A Man entrapped in wreckage on the M7 of Hans Detman Highway in Northdene

A man has sustained moderate injuries after his vehicle left the M7 and collided with the bridge of Hans Detman Highway in Northdene on Saturday afternoon.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene around 2:30 pm to find the man still entrapped in the wreckage. He had sustained moderate injuries and was stabilized on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being cut free by the Durban Fire Department. Once freed he was then transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.

At this stage, the events leading up to the single vehicle leaving the road and colliding with the bridge is unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
