One critical, one injured in apparent electrocution in Inanda, Durban

A man, believed to be in his 50’s, is in a critical condition after an apparent electrocution took place in Inanda, Durban this afternoon.

At approximately 13h30, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man sustained serious burn wounds all over his body. ER24 treated the man for his wounds and he was later transported to a nearby hospital by another medical service on the scene for further medical treatment.

A woman, believed to be between 30 – 40 years old, sustained moderate injuries during the electrocution. She was also treated by ER24 and transported to a hospital in the area.

It is believed that both patients are municipal workers who were busy working on a power line when the incident occurred.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics but the police were on the scene for further investigations.
