SAPS inspires youth in Thswane

As part of Youth Crime Strategy which seeks to empower and support young people in order for them to become self-sufficient and become involved in crime-fighting initiatives, the South African Police Service (SAPS) will participate in the Take a Child to Work initiative at the SAPS Thswane college today, 31 May 2018.

The Take a Child to Work project has been adopted from CELL C’s Take a Girl Child to Work initiative that provides an opportunity for children to experience first-hand the world of working.

The SAPS’s Take a Child to Work Day will include girls and boys, under the theme Dream, Believe, Achieve. This year the initiative will focus on curbing the violation of women’s rights as it is an acute problem in South Africa. Education will form an integral part of the initiative.

Various SAPS divisions and their components will cooperate to host the learners and to display some of the exciting police careers and opportunities offered. The aim is to encourage the youth of all race and gender groups to pursue careers in the SAPS, and to obtain the right working skills that will contribute to the economy and society.
