At approximately 00:04 members of Reaction Unit Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to Vincent Dickinson Road in Canelands after receiving reports of an overturned taxi.
Upon arrival a Toyota Quantum was found lying on its side down an embankment. The driver of the taxi explained that while travelling in the direction of Verulam he lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane before crashing several metres down an embankment.
The driver was the only occupant of the taxi and was not injured in the accident.
