Vehicle Crashed After Reported Tyre Blow-Out on the R102, Verulam

A convertible BMW was extensively damaged after the back tyre burst on the southbound lane of the R102 in Verulam this afternoon.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene shortly after receiving a call from a passing motorist reporting the accident. Upon arrival RUSA Medics met with the driver who explained that he was traveling from Tongaat to Phoenix when his left rear tyre burst as he past the Canelands robots. The vehicle then collided into the metal barrier on the side of the road before coming to a stop.
