An elderly woman was killed after she was hit by a bakkie on York street in George last night.
At approximately 19h00, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman trapped under the bakkie. Upon closer inspection, paramedics saw that there was nothing they could do to save the woman and she was declared dead on the scene.The woman was believed to be in her 70s.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
