A 24-year-old male was arrested by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa this afternoon (Wednesday) after he crashed into a car whilst driving under the influence of alcohol.
Reaction Officers were called out to Colchester Road in Parkgate – Verulam at 16:25 an upon arrival found that a white bakkie had crashed into a silver Hyundai. The female driver & her nine (9) year old son who were traveling in the Hyundai i30 informed Reaction Officers that the occupants of the vehicle were heavily intoxicated and continued to consume liquor after the collision.
Reaction Officers apprehended the man and restrained him after he attempted to damage a tow-truck on scene. His passenger was found passed out in the bakkie.
The suspect was handed over to SAPS Verulam.
