On the 30th of July 2018 members from the Cradock Operational Command Centre and Highway patrol received information about sheep being slaughtered on the R 61, Tarkastad road. Vehicle patrols were conducted in the area and a suspicious looking vehicle was stopped and searched. Fifteen slaughtered sheep carcasses were found, and five (5) male suspects between the ages of seventeen (17) and forty-two (42) years of age were arrested on charges of stock theft. The case is still under investigation and the suspects will appear in court soon.
