Umhlali detectives assisted by the Umhlali K9 Unit worked around the clock to bring a robbery suspect to book. The 26-year-old man is due to appear today in the Umhlali Magistrates Court facing a robbery charge. He was arrested in Durban Central Business District a few hours after he committed the crime. Police recovered stolen goods from the suspect.
On 28 August 2018 at 09:00 a domestic worker was working at a house in Valley Road, Umhlali when she was attacked by the gardener. She was tied up with a rope whilst the suspect removed various items including jewelry, computers, laptops, cellphones, cash and a safe. The suspect fled the scene with the stolen items however due to the speedy response by police, he was nabbed on the same day. The items recovered by police were positively identified by the owner and were handed over to him.
