Bakwena Toll Road to host 6th annual potjie competition once again for Charity, Friday 28th September 2018 at the Cultural Hall, Voortrekker Monument.
Last year we raised over R80 000 which was split amongst 3 charities and this year we are once again looking at three charities to benefit, namely:-
President Kruger Children’s Home

- President Kruger Children’s Homes is a registered non-profit organization that provide care for needy children by providing them with a healthy and stable home where they can develop to their full potential. There are two Children’s Homes, one in Pretoria, Gauteng Province and the other in Reddersburg, Free State Province. The children are placed with them by a court order of which 90% come from traumatized household environments. Both their children’s homes are registered to accommodate 63 children each and the ages of their children range from 2 to 18 years. They also have a follow-up program for their school leavers that includes tertiary education as well as placement of children in suitable working environments.
Sonitus School for the Hard of Hearing
o Sonitus School, the first school for hard-hearing students, officially opened its doors on April 10, 1973. This historic event preceded months of planning and hard work, but eventually, this dream came true.
Huis Talje
o Huis Talje (Community Based Project in Warmbaths that provides Total Care of Severely Physically and Mentally Handicapped Children in the Limpopo Province, working with the Community and Government in efforts aimed at stabilizing Family Life and Improving the Social and Educational Environment of these Special Children). Currently, there are 52 children in their care.
We will also have an animal collection as well for the SPCA’s.
