Court update of arrested suspect during operation “ceasefire”

Makhale Moshe Pilusa aged 27 appeared before Namakgale Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 2018-10-25 for a charge of illegal possession of ammunition and his case was remanded to 2018-11-27 for further police investigations. The accused was granted R1000. 00 bail.
This comes after the accused was found in possession of unlicensed ammunition during a sting operation “ceasefire” in Phalaborwa outside Giyani, during early hours of 2018-10-24.

The members comprising various units within the station reacted to a tip-off about a suspect in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect was traced at a house in Machidi Mashishimale village and during the search 26 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

Further police investigations are still to be conducted to establish the origin of these ammunition.
