Pupil among those nabbed with stolen goods

police officers from the Point police station were conducting crime prevention when they spotted four men walking along Robyn Lane, carrying three bags. Among the four males was a pupil from a local high school still wearing his school uniform. The police officers approached the men and a search was conducted.

Police discovered that the bags contained computer towers, a flat screen, Wi-Fi router and other items. The four suspects were immediately placed under arrest for being in possession of suspected stolen property. In a follow up investigation, police proceeded to Emakholweni area in Umbumbulu where computers, a microwave, a projector and other items were seized from one of the suspect’s homes. A safe and a bag was also found in the nearby bushes.

It is alleged that on 16 October 2018, the suspects broke into a Primary School in Umbumbulu where they stole cash from the safe as well as all the items seized by police. A case of burglary was opened for investigation at Umbumbulu SAPS. All the stolen property was positively identified by the lawful owner. The four suspects are aged between 18 and 20 years old. They will be appearing at the Durban Magistrates Court later today for being in possession of a suspected stolen property.
