Four year old burnt to death in Mountview

A four year old girl died & a two boys aged seven and eleven year old sustained injuries when their home was set alight during an argument in Jacaranda Avenue in Mountview- KZN.

Reaction Unit South Africa received several frantic calls from residents in the area reporting an entrapment asd house fire. Reaction Officers arrived on scene to find a small home that had completely burnt down. . According to the homeowner, two children were inside the residence.

Reaction Officers searched the home & found a girl lying face down in the rubble. She was burnt beyond recognition. Two other children were located with burn wounds to their bodies. Paramedics treated both boys & transported them to a local hospital.

Reaction Officers interviewed the resident who explained that the home was set alight by her boyfriend during an argument. The woman who was heavily intoxicated said that the deceased & Injured were her grandchildren. Several neighbors who overheard the grandmothers explanation came to the defense of the boyfriend & blamed the fire on a fallen candle.

Investigations are continuing.
