The public is requested to be on the lookout for a blue VW Golf with registration NJ 51977.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD after receiving calls of a pedestrian vehicular accident. Upon arrival it was established that the driver of the VW Golf sped off shortly after knocking into a 39 year old pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road.
Medics treated the pedestrian for moderate injuries before transporting him to Osindisweni Hospital in a stable condition. Witnesses reported seeing the VW Golf fleeing towards Canelands shortly after the accident.
