MEC Kaunda participates in Operation Sakuma Sakhe in Ugu District

MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda attended the provincial Operational Sakuma Sakhe at Ward 11, Umzinto.

MEC Kaunda started at a briefing session at the KwaMbhtheni War Room of the Umdoni Municipality to engage with stakeholders on issues arising within the ward.

MEC Kaunda together with senior officials of the department, Cllr Nombika from Ward 11, Umzinto then proceeded to conduct Operation Siyahlola of Espanza Bridge and the handover of necessities for the functioning of Zamani Creche within the ward. Sleeping mats, toys, tables and chairs were donated to the creche. A tree was planted by MEC Kaunda, Cllr Nombika of Ward 11 and Inkosi LM Shozi.

MEC Kaunda and those accompanying him then proceeded to view a hazardous infrastructure collapse near the creche to be attended to.

MEC Kaunda and those accompanying him then proceeded a community engagement with the Shayamoya community on issues facing the community.
