Suspects impersonating policemen sought in Riyadh

Four occupants of a red VW Polo Tsi with an unknown registration are being sought after they attempted to hijack two vehicles on Gulshan Drive in Riyadh.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene following the incident. Upon arrival it was established that a man was talking to a friend on the roadside when the VW Polo drove up to them. Four suspects alighted from the vehicle and drew firearms. One suspect was dressed in a Police uniform.

The victims were instructed to hand over the keys to two Hyundai i10’s before they were forced to lie on the ground. The suspects then got into the vehicles but failed to reverse them out of the driveway due to them having automatic transmissions. They then abandoned the vehicles and fled the scene The victims were not injured.

Reaction Officers conducted a search for the armed men however they still remain at large.
