A BMW X5 that was taken during a house robbery in Mandeni north of Durban was recovered by members of Reaction Unit South Africa in Parkgate – Verulam last night (Friday).
At approximately 20:44 the RUSA Operations Centre received a tip off from an anonymous caller stating that robbery suspects had abandoned the vehicle in the area. The caller could not provide an exact location of the vehicle except that is was parked in dead end.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and recovered the abandoned vehicle. The number plates and license disk was removed. With the use of the chassis number a vehicle status check was conducted which confirmed that the luxury SUV was taken by armed suspects during a home invasion in Mandeni on Thursday night.
The vehicle was handed over to Police for forensic investigation.
