Stolen vehicle and livestock recovered in Verulam

A Fiat Uno and two goats that were stolen from Mhlasini in Everest Heights was recovered in Cottonlands near Verulam.

Reaction Unit South Africa Verulam Operations Centre received a call from a member of public requesting assistance after three suspects had stolen two goats from his property. The suspects then loaded the stolen livestock into his neighbor’s Fiat Uno and fled. The caller pursued the getaway vehicle with his company bakkie and requested assistance from RUSA to stop the vehicle.

Reaction Officers were dispatched to Cottonlands and recovered the vehicle abandoned on the roadside. It was still idling at the time of the recovery. The ignition was damaged  and a modified tool was used to start the vehicle . The stolen goats were also recovered in the vehicle.

Reaction Officers searched a bush which the suspects entered during their escape however no arrests were made.
