The relentless search by Mthatha K9 handler Cst Katikati since from 21:30 on Tuesday 8/1 ended a little before midnight, when a 11-year-old boy who was reported missing was found.
He was dropped off by a member of the community at the Mthatha Central Police station. The child was last seen at 15:00 at his home in Santose Street Mandela Park in Mthatha.
When no-one saw him he packed all his clothes into a backpack and left.
The child who was unharmed was taken to relatives.
