Brake Failure Blamed For Taxi Collision: King Shaka International Airport – KZN

Three people were injured following a collision on the M65 outside King Shaka International Airport in La Mercy a short while ago (Friday).

At approximately 07:35 the RUSA Operations Centre received multiple calls from passing motorists reporting a high impact collision between two vehicles at the robots outside the cargo terminal.

Upon arrival two occupants of a Hyundai i10 and the driver of a Toyota Hiace taxi were found to have sustained moderate injuries. The were treated on scene by Medics before being transported to Osindisweni Hospital.

According to the driver of the taxi the brakes on his vehicle failed as he approached the robots which resulted in him driving through a red robot. The Hyundai i10 collided into the side of the Toyota Hiace causing it to spin around.
