A male pedestrian believed to be 47-years-old was killed after being knocked down by a vehicle on the N3 South in Mkondeni, Pietermaritzburg this afternoon.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 14H30, they found the man lying in the centre median of the road. Unfortunately, the man sustained fatal injuries and he was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries but refused transportation to hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene.
