Stolen Vehicle and Firearms recovered in Bishop Lavis, suspect arrested

Anti-Gang Unit members arrested a 40-year-old male at 07:00 this morning during tracing operations in Valhalla Park, Bishop Lavis. The members followed up information relating to alleged gangsters hiding at a residence which led to the discovery of two illegal firearms with their serial numbers filled off, a total of 39 rounds of ammunition and a stolen motor vehicle.

The motor vehicle was taken during a House Robbery in Rondebosch and later used in a Murder and Attempted Murder case registered at Philippi SAPS.

The suspect was detained on possession of illegal firearms, ammunition and a stolen motor vehicle charges and he will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court once he is charged.
