Three-vehicle collision leaves five injured in Dicovery, west of Johannesburg

Five people were left injured this afternoon following a three-vehicle collision at the Christiaan De Wet and Claredon Road intersection in Discovery, west of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene at 15h45 to find the three wrecked vehicles in the middle of the road.

Paramedics assessed the patients found on the scene and found that two people, a man a woman, had sustained numerous injuries and were in a critical condition. Three other patients sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and provided the critically injured patients with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the critically woman was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to Lenmed Randfontein for urgent treatment.

The remaining patients were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
