31 Year old mother Jeneve Venkatido was granted bail of R1000 in the Verulam Magistrates Court today.
Venkatido was arrested on Monday afternoon by Members of Reaction Unit South Africa when Officers were called out to a residential area after receiving information on a baby lying in a refuse bag.
Whilst Paramedics were treating the new born baby boy, Reaction Officers began questioning residents in the area & eventually arrested the mother. She remained in Police custody since Monday & appeared in the Verulam Magistrates Court today on charges of Attempted Murder & Child Abandonment.
She is expected to make a second Court appearance at the end of the month.
