A boy, believed to be 10-years-old, was left critically injured when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the Old Thabanchu Road in Bloemspruit, Free State.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the boy lying some distance of in the field. The vehicle that hit the boy was found parked approximately 50 metres away.
Paramedics treated the boy and immediately rushed him to Pelonomi Provincial Hospital for further care.
The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
