At approximately 16:14 RUSA Members were called out to Old Main Road in Ottawa – Verulam after receiving reports of a motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival Reaction Officers found a Hyundai i10 and an Opel Corsa bakkie had been extensively damaged in the collision. The occupants of the Hyundai i10 which included two children aged 4 & 6 as well as the occupants of the bakkie were not injured.
It is alleged that both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when a third vehicle suddenly drove through a stop street at a t-junction and knocked into the Opel Corsa bakkie which spun around. The Hyundai i10 then collided head on into the bakkie.
Traffic was reduced to one lane which resulted in delays.
