Willowvale Police arrested a 43-year-old man for alleged murder of his wife aged 33. It is alleged that the couple had a misunderstanding at their home on Sunday, 03 February 2019 at about 17:00 at Jojweni Locality, Nkelekethe Village, Willowvale.
The suspect drew his knife and stabbed the wife in her upper body. When he discovered that the victim was bleeding profusely, he decided to take the wife to the Dutywa Health Centre. She was confirmed dead on arrival.
Police were informed that the victim was murdered by her husband. Police acted swiftly and arrested the suspect. The suspect is due to appear before the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 05 February 2019 on a murder charge. Acting Butterworth Cluster Commander Colonel Ncedo Ngwendze condemned the cold blooded murder of the victim especially by the person who was supposed to protect her. The identity of the victim is still being withheld until all her family members are officially informed of her murder.
