Two men were left seriously injured this morning when a light motor vehicle collided into the side of another at the at the R56 and Murray intersection in Edendale, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics, along with another medical service, arrived on the scene at 06h10 to find that one light motor vehicle was found in the middle of the intersection while the second had come to a stop on the side of the road.
On closer inspection, paramedics found one man lying trapped inside the vehicle on the side of the road. A second man was found next to his vehicle in the middle of the intersection. Both men were found in a serious condition.
ER24 Rescue medics had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the entrapped man from the vehicle. Once freed, paramedics treated the men and provided both with pain-relief medication.
Once treated, both men were transported to Edendale Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
