A 49 year old woman is reported to be in a stable condition after she was bitten on the face by an unidentified snake in Verulam today (Wednesday).
At approximately 11:18 Medics from Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the property after the woman’s employer reported the incident. Upon arrival the woman complained of severe headaches. The snake was not identified and was described as being green in color & approximately half a meter in length.
The woman explained that she was in the process of opening the driveway gate and assumed that the snake was a piece of rope. When she tried to move it bit her on her face.
Her colleagues heard her scream and upon their investigation they saw the snake enter a bush.
