Another four vehicle collision leaves three critical & several others seriously injured

A second multiple vehicle collision on Van Reenen’s Pass today has left at least 10 injured, three of which are in a critical condition. A teenaged female had to be extracted by the Municipal Fire Department while another patient had suffered critical head injuries – both required Advanced Life Support interventions. A father, mother and child from one vehicle luckily suffered only minor to moderate injuries.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene around 4pm this afternoon along with other services to find that four light motor vehicles had been involved in a collision – the heavy traffic, rain and low visibility taking their toll. Three critical, two minor and five others suffered moderate to serious injuries. All were transported to both private and provincial hospitals in Ladysmith for further care.

SAPS and the Traffic department were also on hand for further investigations.
