At least ten people were left injured yesterday, including a 3-year-old boy, following a bakkie rollover on the N12 outside of Delmas.
ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene to find the bakkie positioned upright in the middle of the highway. Patients, that had been travelling on the back of the vehicle, were now found scattered around on the scene.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a 3-year-old boy had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition while at least ten other adults had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured boy provided with advanced life support before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment. The critically injured boy was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to Sunshine Hospital for urgent treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
