Nine year old child found in Verulam

A nine year old girl was found near the Engen Garage on Todd Street – Verulam

A passing Reaction Officer was flagged down by a member of the public. The woman informed Officers that she noticed the child crying hysterically. The then child explained that her mother had asked her to wait at the garage and she would be fetched at 14:00. Several hours later she was still stranded at the premises.

A female RUSA Officer was called to the scene and calmed the child who was identified as Samkelisiwe Ndlovu from Dianthus Primary School. She further informed the Officer that she resided in Inanda but could not point out her house. He mum is a nurse at Osindisweni Hospital and was identified as Zandile Ndlovu. Osindisweni Hospital was contacted & the receptionist could not immediately located the mother or provide a contact number.
