Hijackers struck again in Amanzimtoti, this time on School Road in Athlone Park last night, where they fled with a gold Toyota Etios Hatchback at gunpoint.
Alpha Alarms Armed Response who was patrolling in the Athlone area received an alert of the hijacking and was dispatched to the scene of the non-client. CCPO and SAPS were on site.
According to information received, the vehicle was on the driveway awaiting to proceed into the property whilst the gate was being opened when a suspect approached the driver who was held up at gunpoint. The driver was forced out of the vehicle and the suspects fled with the car.
It was reported that an unconfirmed number of suspects were in a vehicle, said to be a VW Golf, unconfirmed colour, parked across the road.
