NC Transport MEC to Release Preliminary Easter Report

The Northern Cape MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Mr Lebogang Motlhaping will tomorrow be releasing the Provincial preliminary Easter Road Safety Campaign Report.

MEC Motlhaping will reflect on the overall Provincial performance during the Easter period, including the law enforcement operations and road safety education efforts. He continues to reaffirm that Road Safety is a 365 Days programme, not only of government but of all road users. The preliminary report, will therefore reflect on the heightened operations during the Easter period as the period is known for increased traffic volumes as travels crisscross the country to various destinations.

The Department during holiday periods heightens operations to meet the travel needs and as per the increased traffic volumes on the roads.

Members of the media are cordially invited to the briefing to be held at the Provincial Office of the Department for the release of the report.

We would like to continue to urge all members of the community to obey the rules of the road and be mindful of other road users. May we all remember that, “Road Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility”.
