Teen arrested with drugs in Kraaifontein

Kraaifontein SAPS members attached to the Provincial Intervention task team arrested a 19-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs at 14:00 today in Klipbok Street, Scottsdene, Kraaifontein.

The members were busy with crime prevention duties when they saw a man running into a residential property as soon as he saw the police vehicle. They gave chase and cornered him in the residential property, where he also dropped a bread plastic carrier bag. The bag contained several drugs, including: Tik, Mandrax tablets, Hash and dagga, with a street value of more than R2000,00. They also discovered almost R300,00 in cash with the drugs.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Kraaifontein SAPS on dealing in drugs charges. He will appear in the Kuils River Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.

Brigadier Gerda van Niekerk, the Kraaifontein SAPS station commissioner, congratulated the members for their hard work and dedication. She further stated that the Kraaifontein police will continue with their crime fighting operations to stop criminals from profiting from selling drugs to the Kraaifontein community.
