Three injured in head-on crash in Fishhoek

At 1315 yesterday, Cape Medical Response responded to a head-on motor vehicle accident right outside of our offices. We heard the collision and immediately dispatched our resources and vehicles to the scene.

We treated three patients. The drivers of both vehicles were trapped and the Jaws of Life had to be used to cut them out. It took nearly an hour to cut the victims out of the wreckage – a very big thank you to the Fish Hoek Fire Department for their great efforts in managing to cut the victims out with the Jaws of Life.

The driver of the bakkie was airlifted by the Air Mercy Service (AMS) helicopter in a critical but stable condition to hospital. The occupants of the silver car were both transported by ambulance to hospital in a stable condition.

A very big thank you to the Fish Hoek Fire Department for their great efforts.
