2.5 Meter Black Mamba captured in Ottawa

A Black Mamba measuring approximately 2.5 meters in length was captured in a dog kennel at a home on Piccadilly Road in Ottawa – Verulam.

Reaction Unit South Africa Verulam Operations Center received a call from a resident reporting a large snake coiled in their dog’s kennel. Upon arrival Reaction Officers identified the reptile as a highly venomous Black Mamba.

Professional snake catcher Jason Arnold from Universal Reptiles was called out and upon arrival safely removed the reptile from the property.

The snake will be relocated to its natural environment away from homes and businesses.
