A woman was killed and two others injured this morning when a bakkie and truck collided on the R603 in Eston, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 09h20 to find that a bakkie and truck had collided. All three patients were found from the bakkie.
On assessment, medics found that a woman, believed to be in her 70s, had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition. Two other patients were found with moderate injuries.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with the woman with advanced life support interventions.
After a short time, the critically injured woman succumbed to her injuries, despite the CPR and advanced life support interventions provided.
The two other patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
