Elderly Isipingo Hills resident duped and robbed by jewellery conman

Isipingo residents please be on the lookout for about 4 Indian men believed to be ‘cash for jewellery sellers’, who just duped an elderly woman and stole her gold jewellery from her at her Isipingo Hills residence, a short while ago.
The Alpha Alarms client called the Alpha Alarms Control Room, and requested assistance.
Alpha Alarms Armed Response Units were dispatched to the premises where it was discovered that about four Indian men in a white vehicle stopped at the residence.
One man enquired from the domestic outside about an occupant at the residence and then proceeded to enter the property.
The suspect is alleged to have chatted to the complainant about cash for her jewellery. The complainant removed her jewellery and the suspect weighed it on a scale that he had in his possession. He walked around with the jewellery and fled the premises with his accomplices seated in the getaway vehicle, leaving behind his scale.
An alert neighbour spotted the suspects driving off in a white vehicle, make unknown, with an NP registration.
Alpha Alarms Response Units are on patrol in the area in search of the suspects.
Residents are urged to caution domestic workers and maintenance staff to refrain from chatting to strangers and allowing them entry on to the property.
Please warn elderly occupants to never allow strangers into the residence.
Security gates and doors should be locked.
Do not conduct business with the door to door ‘cash for jewellery’ sellers no matter how good the deal seems.
There have been too many reported incidents of theft and robbery in such cases.
They also swoop on the elderly as they are soft targets.
If any such individuals selling jewellery are seen please contact Isipingo SAPS on 031-9133410/ 10111 or Alpha Alarms on 031-902-6666.
