Suspect hides in Isipingo shop and burgles premises before fleeing with cash, cigarettes and alcohol

Business owners are urged to do a proper check of their business premises before closing up for the day and to ensure that their store alarm is activated as wily suspects are hiding in the stores and ransacking the premises when the doors are closed.
This comes after an Isipingo CBD business owner closed up for the day only to discover later on that his shop had been robbed.
A guard at the building called the Alpha Alarms Control Room for assistance after he noticed movement inside the store.
Alpha Alarms Response Units were immediately dispatched, however, the suspect made a quick escape via a window.
Upon arrival, Alpha Alarms Response members discovered that the suspect had been hiding in the shop and when the shop was closed, he helped himself to cash left over to pay for morning stock, cigarettes and alcohol.
Some cigarettes and alcohol were recovered near the open window.
Business owners are urged to ensure that they have adequate security measures at their business premises.
It is important that your alarm system is armed upon closing and a check of the premises is done to ensure that there are no hideaways in your property.
